Construction Timeline
The reconstruction of the building is divided in to two phases. These
phases will allow a portion of the building to be used as teaching and
Research space while the remaining areas are renovated. The phasing
process, along with the relocation of the faculty offices to Mooney and
Duffy Hall, have enabled the faculty to maintain all teaching and
Research functions throughout the course of the project.
Phase I
Timeline May 24, 2005 – August 19, 2006
This phase is the most extensive as it includes the construction of the
new addition at the front of the building and a renovation of half the
existing structure. Included in this work is all of the major site and
infrastructure improvements such as water, sewer, electric and gas and
the addition of the fifth floor mechanical penthouse which will house
all of the HVAC equipment for the entire project.
Phase II
Timeline - September 1, 2006 – July 15, 2007
Upon the completion of Phase I, the remaining labs in the occupied
section of the building will be relocated to the newly constructed labs.
Once the faculty and labs are relocated this phase includes the
renovation of the remaining portion of the existing building. During
this time, the new sections of the building including the conference
rooms, classrooms and amphitheater will be open and scheduled for campus
use. The faculty offices will remain in Mooney and Duffy Hall until the
completion of Phase II.
