Financial Aid - Loan Process at Seton Hall University
In order for students to receive a Stafford Loan, certain requirements must be met.
- Students must file a FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid www.fafsa.ed.gov and clear all requirements related.
- Students must maintain at least half time status
- Students must be a citizen or permanent resident
- Students can not be in Default
- Students are required to complete Student Entrance Counseling at, www.mappingyourfuture.org
- Students must be in a matriculated program.
- Students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Once you have selected your Lender, you should apply directly with the Lender of your choice. You will complete a MPN, Master Promissory Note, with that Institution if it is your first time receiving loan funds from them. Once you have completed your MPN the lender will send the school a Certification Request. If you have met all requirements with the school, we will send out the certification to the lender, setting a disbursement date and loan amount. Your loan will then be set for disbursement.
